NRG Energy is an American energy provider with headquarters in Houston. The company is listed on the NYSE. With an installed capacity of 55 GW in 19 states NRG is one of the largest energy providers in America. Built with SunPower NRG 250 -MW ground-mounted photovoltaic plant California Valley Solar Ranch. NRG owns 44 % stake in the South Texas nuclear power plant.

History

End of 2005, took over the Texas Genco and NRG Energy, 2009, the customer business of Reliant Energy. 2012 NRG bought the GenOn ( 14,000 MW) and Edison Mission Energy (8000 MW) of Edison International.
