NRK

Norsk Rikskringkasting (NRK; German: Norwegian Broadcasting, literal translation: Norwegian Empire Broadcasting ) is the national broadcasting company in Norway, which is financed from the state budget and license fees. The NRC was established in 1933 and is the largest media company in Norway, he is a member of the EBU and the northern vision.

The NRC operates three television channels and 15 radio channels, three of which nationwide.

History

Radio aired in Norway by the private company Kringkastningselskapet A / S since 1924. This company was the predecessor was founded in 1933 NRK. NRK is a state-owned enterprise ( a public limited company since 1996) and had the broadcasting monopoly until the 80s. The programs of the NRC can be received via the Internet since 2000.

Regional studios were opened in the 70s and 80s, including Sámi Radio (headquarters: Karasjok ), which supplies together with the Swedish and the Finnish broadcasting the seeds in northern Scandinavia with a program in Sami language.

NRK is divided into different sections. NRK Kringkasting is the program formative area, the four sections are involved in program production:

  • NRK Østlandssendingen ( Oslo and Akershus )

NRC also has a commercial subsidiary NRK asset being sold, inter alia, books, CDs and DVDs of original programming.

Television and radio programs

Notes: 1 NRK P1 is the most listened to radio station in Norway, with 1.9 million listeners daily. The program sends six times daily regional news. 2 NRK P2 was started in 1984 as a cultural channel and has a listener share of 8 percent. 3 NRK P3 was started in 1993 as a youth channel. 4 NRK P3 Urørt is an internet radio which unknown Norwegian musicians allows the transmitter to make their music available for free and play on the radio. 5 These programs via FM, DAB and receivable as an Internet radio, with the NRK Sápmi has its station just to the north of the country. 6 These radio programs are transmitted via DAB and the Internet. Financing

NRK is financed mainly through the license fee, the proceeds of which in 2005 were NOK in three billion. This is almost equal to the total sum of the Norwegian culture budgets.

The radio and television programs of the NRC are ad-free. Only in the Internet offer may be displayed advertising, with the exception of services for children. Commercials from sponsors before and after television programs are also allowed. Until December 30, 2008 NRK also sent via the teletext advertising, had to remove it, however, upon a decision of the Norwegian Parliament Storting. Advertising and sponsors brought NRK in 2006 revenues of 51 million crowns.
