Nu Ursae Majoris

Ny Ursae Majoris ( UMa short ν ) is a double star in the constellation Ursa Major. The central star is a giant of spectral type K3 and has an apparent magnitude of 3.5 mag. The system is approximately 400 light years from the Sun. The angular distance of the companion is around 7 seconds of arc.

The star bears the historical proper names Alula Borealis.
