Nuclear Explosions for the National Economy

The program nuclear explosions for the economy was to make a Soviet projects, nuclear weapons for civilian use available.

From 1965 to 1988 carried more than 100 explosions civilian nuclear explosive devices, mainly in mining.

To accidental radioactive contamination occurred in the explosions globe -1 on September 19, 1971 ( at Kineschma in European Russia with an explosive yield of 2.3 kilotons of TNT equivalent ) and Kraton -3 on August 24, 1978 ( in the far eastern Yakutia with 22 kilotons of explosive force ).
