Nucleomorph

The Nucleomorphe are located between the two outer and two inner envelope membranes of plastids. The Nucleomorph the cryptophyceae is related to the red algal cell nuclei, the Nucleomorph Chlorarachniophyceen of the green algae. Both Nucleomorph genomes contain only three small chromosomes. The majority of the genes, which were originally contained in these genomes were transferred in the course of evolution in the nucleus of the host cell in question.
