Numbered musical notation

Chinese numeric notation or Jianpu notation (Chinese简谱/简谱, Pinyin jiǎnpǔ; literally " simplified notation ") is one since the early 20th century used in China musical notation system with Arabic numerals. It is used both for the notation unanimous music and polyphonic music. It is derived from the French system called Galin -Paris- Chevé (ie the Chevéschen numeric notation).

For this musical numbers, musical notation are essentially digits (from 1 to 7, with 0 as pause) used plus additional characters, including many from the western standard music notation.

Notation

Music

The Zifferntonschrift can be used as a basis for the tonic sol - fa ( cf. solmization and solfege ), numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 are the 7 levels of the scale, they will do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, si pronounced pauses are indicated by the number 0. The numbers 1-7 correspond to the diatonic major scale.

Solfege: do ré mi fa sol la si Jianpu notation: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 octavings

Points above or below the notes indicate whether these are an octave above or below the original pitch. The number of points equals the number of octaves. For example, the numeral " 6" with a dot under it an octave lower represents the scales are structured as follows:

• Major scale: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 1   Minor Scale: 6 7 1 2 3 4 5 6             • • accidental

When a sound is to be increased or decreased, to write to the left of the digit increase sign (# ) or a humiliation characters ( b ), such as # 1 or b2. Accordingly, there are natural sign. The key is accordingly specified at the beginning of the piece.

Time signature

The time signature appears at the beginning of the piece with a short slash between two Arabic numerals as for example "3/ 4", the top number indicates the number of beats, the lower number, the duration of each shock. " 2/4 " = two-four time, "3/4 " = three-quarter time, " 4/4 " = four-four time, " 6/8 " = six -eight time, etc. In the play itself, the clocks are indicated by long vertical lines.

Key

The key of a piece is indicated at the beginning, by indicating which note is the basic level. For example, means 1 = D that the level of the fundamental tone of the piece corresponding to the note D on the keyboard of the piano, the other tones analogous to it; B = B major; bB = B flat major, etc.

Note values

A single digit corresponds to a quarter note. The note following short horizontal lines extend the note value. For example, on the first tone:

Underlining shorten the note value. They correspond to the flags in the conventional notation.

  • An underscore: eighth note
  • Two underlines: sixteenth note
  • Three underlining: Thirty-second
  • Four underlining: Vierundsechzigstelnote

Rhythmic notation

In the rhythmic notation, for example, for drums, small or large X's are held the note number set, such as:

4/4 >> ( clap :) | X X X X X | X X X X 0 X X | | ties

Ties are listed as in the conventional notation, with a bow from the first to the last note.

Slurs

Slurs are listed as in the conventional notation, with a bow from the first to the last note.

A V -like mark above the notation line, however, shows a brief respite.

Ornamentation

The following decorations are in the Jianpu notation used (selection):

The long proposal is usually quoted at a on ascending or descending rounded arrow between the two question marks.

Short proposal

There is also the short proposal. He is quoted by the corresponding note number double underlined and a curved line is to lowercase in the direction of the grade line above the baseline.

Trill

The trill is listed as in the conventional notation with dr. He is above the staff number listed with alternating sounds of this note with the quick about it. A touch point can be written above the trill, in this case, the trill is performed by trilling with the corresponding specified note about it.

Notation example
