Numbers (spreadsheet)

Numbers is a spreadsheet program from Apple. It was presented on 7 August 2007 and complements the iWork suite that also the programs Pages ( word processor) and Keynote ( presentation software ) includes. Since 2010 it is touch also available for the iPad and since 2011 also for the iPhone and iPod.

Unlike Microsoft Excel Numbers does not work with a single, large table, but may be several independent tables, charts or images side by side represent on a "canvas".

Numbers can convert documents into the format. Xls, so they can be opened with Excel. It is also possible with restrictions to open Excel spreadsheets with Numbers. This works in simple Excel tables; due to the lower range of functions of Numbers it comes to complex Excel functions but error messages. Conversions to PDF and CSV are also possible.
