Nuraghe Losa

The Nuraghe Losa is located near the town of Abbasanta on the SS 131 ( " Carlo Felice "). She can be reached via its own exit at km 123.

The plant

Along with the monuments of Barumini and Torralba, the complex is an important testimony of Nuraghen in Sardinia (14th - 8th century BC ).

The system consists of an enclosure with two main and several side entrances. The main inputs are characterized by Dipylon towers with numerous embrasure -like passages. Within the temenos are the main complex in the form of a still 13 meters high Nuraghenrestes and numerous rudimentary outhouse. There is also a small building with an exhibition of artifacts from the region. Outside the wall is a small urn field.

The Nuraghe

Losa is a Tholosnuraghe from complex type, with an unfinished triangular bastion. It consists of a central, largely complete main tower to find the three in the triangle arranged smaller tower remains. In the main chamber, there are three major niches.
