Nurettin Ersin

Nurettin Ersin ( * 1918 in Canakkale, Canakkale Province; † October 3, 2005 in Ankara) was a Turkish general, who, among others, as Secretary of State from 1971 to 1973 head of the intelligence service Millî istihbarat Teşkilâtı (MIT) and most recently in 1983 Chief of the General Staff ( Genelkurmay Başkanı ) of the Turkish armed Forces ( Türk Silahlı Kuvvetleri ) was.

Life

Officer training and head of MIT

After visiting the military academy of Bursa Ersin resigned as an officer cadet in 1935 in the Military School ( Harp Okulu ), which he left in 1937 as a lieutenant in the infantry.
