History
The community was created by Nuthetal date October 26, 2003 from the voluntary merger of formerly independent, the Office Rehbrücke communities belonging to mountain -Rehbrücke, Fahlhorst, Nudow, Philip Thal, Saar mouth and Tremsdorf within the municipal reform Brandenburg. The municipal administration has its headquarters in the village of Berg -Rehbrücke.
On 31 August 1992, the Minister of the Interior gave its approval for the formation of the Office Rehbrücke based in Bergholz- Rehbrücke. The time of occurrence of the Office September 15, 1992 has been set. The agreement was to expire on September 15, 1994 At the time of inception, the office included the communities. Mount -Rehbrücke, Fahlhorst, Nudow, Saar mouth and Tremsdorf from the former Potsdam county. The community Philippstal ( Potsdam county ) was assigned to the Office Rehbrücke by § 1 paragraph 4 of the Official Rules of the State of Brandenburg. The restriction was lifted with effect from 3 August 1994. In a notice dated 18 April 2002, the Ministry of the Interior approved the State of Brandenburg, the formation of a new municipality Nuthetal from the communities of Bergholz- Rehbrücke, Fahlhorst, Nudow, Philip Thal, Saar mouth and Tremsdorf. However, the merger only became legally effective October 26, 2003, the community Nuthetal Office free, and the Office Rehbrücke was dissolved.
The name comes from the town to the river Nuthe flowing therethrough between the westerly Ortenberg -Rehbrücke, Saar mouth and Tremsdorf and the eastern villages Nudow and Philippstal and flows into the Havel in neighboring Potsdam. In Saar mouth Theodor Fontane researched on his walking tour through the Mark Brandenburg in 1870 in vain for the traditions of the legendary already in his time Nuthe castles.

The community Nuthetal benefited economically and structurally from the proximity to Potsdam and Berlin. With an unemployment rate of 4.25 %, unemployment is below the national average. The purchasing power of the municipality lies with 104-112 slightly above the normal value of 100 points.
In the districts of mountain -Rehbrücke Saar and mouth are shopping centers of different discount stores and smaller private businesses. In mountain -Rehbrücke are the German Institute of Human Nutrition and the Institute for Cereal Processing.
Traffic
About the motorway access to the A115 and the Berliner Ring you're connected to the Berlin or Potsdam city center. Three railways Deutsche Bahn pass through the municipality, on which two stations are located. This one is also connected by public transport to the major airport BER. Between the various districts and regular bus transport system of Berlin- Brandenburg.
Education
In the town there are two primary schools and four kindergartens. Two kindergartens and a school in the village of Berg -Rehbrücke and in the district of Saar mouth.

The municipal council consists of 18 members and the mayor. The Free Democratic Party, Volunteer Fire Nuthetal & Citizen districts Nuthetal also form a parliamentary group as the Christian Democratic Union and the Independent Citizens' Initiative connection list / Alliance 90/The Greens / interest club sewage water ( Green ).
