Oak Point is a city in Denton County in the U.S. state of Texas in the United States.

Geography

The city lies on the Farm Road 424 in northeast Texas, is located in the north about 60 miles from Oklahoma and has a total area of 15.4 km ², of which 0.6 km ² water surface.

Demographic data

According to the census of 2000, there were 1,747 people in 600 households and 498 families. The population density was 118.3 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was composed of 93.53 % White, 1.03 % African American, 0.74 % Native American, 0.23 % Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander residents from the and 2.35 % from other ethnic groups. Approximately 2.12% were of mixed descent, and 7.27 % of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
