Oasis Hong Kong Airlines

Oasis Hong Kong Airlines was a specialized intercontinental long-haul low-cost airline based in Hong Kong and based on the Hong Kong International Airport.

History

The company was founded in 2005 and the first machine was originally supposed to start on 25 October 2006 from Hong Kong to London -Gatwick. However, since the Oasis Hong Kong Airlines was initially denied overflight permission for Russia, the machine had to stay on the ground. After the approval was finally granted, the first flight took place a day later than planned.

By 2009, the fleet would eventually grow to 20 to 25 aircraft after initial plans to 15 aircraft by 2010 /2011. Priority should this Boeing 747, but also 777 and had not yet put into service 787 and Airbus A340 are used.

The tickets for all flights were, according to the airline from 1.000, - HKD equivalent to about 100, - EUR sold. On 6 February 2007 cost the cheapest one-way version including taxes 176 - £.

On 9 April 2008 Oasis Hong Kong Airlines ceased flight operations. The reason for this was the bisherig accumulated loss of 1 billion HKD, which according to unnamed sources per flight 1 million HKD loss were flown. This was followed by the liquidation of the airline. Two of the planes of Oasis Hong Kong Airlines ( identifiers B -LFA and B- LFB ) were taken over by the Indonesian Lion Air in 2009.

Destinations

Oasis Hong Kong Airlines Hong Kong combined first with London -Gatwick and Vancouver. Later would follow targets, including Berlin, Dusseldorf and Cologne / Bonn. Oasis Hong Kong Airlines would thus have been the first low cost airline, the intercontinental long-haul flights had offered to and from Germany and Switzerland.

Fleet

For adjustment of air operations for the fleet of Oasis Hong Kong Airlines consisted of three aircraft:

  • 3 Boeing 747-400 ( identifiers B -LFA, B- LFB and B- LFC; acquired by Singapore Airlines and All Nippon Airways )
