Oberösterreichische Rundschau

The Upper Austrian Rundschau or district Rundschau is a regional weekly newspaper in Upper Austria and is distributed since January 2009, free to all households. History

Their predecessors newspapers going back to 1880, when the People's Daily Innviertler was lifted out of the baptism in Ried. This was followed by the 1881 New Waiting am Inn ( Braunau ), 1889, the Welser newspaper and the Mühlviertler messages. From 1945 to 2006, the other regional editions were launched. Under the name of Upper Austria Rundschau it has been known since 1981. 2005, has over 80,000 subscribers the sheet. In retail around 20,000 copies were sold per week (according to ÖAK 2005, JS, sale total). The free Sunday Rundschau had 600,000 readers, according Regioprint06. 2008 Rundschau had to be sold because of financial difficulties at the Moser Holding.

Scope

The Upper Austrian Rundschau is represented by two print titles on the media market:

  • The regional editions ( district Rundschau) ( publication dates: Thursday / Friday)
  • The corrections Kleinanzeiger

On 15 November 2009, the last year of publication " Rundschau am Sonntag". This was, apart from the last few months of its existence, free of charge. Prior to the acquisition by Moser Holding the newspaper was even distributed free to households. Near the end they tried to sell and thus still making a U turn the " Rundschau am Sonntag" for 50 cents. The measure did not achieve the desired result.

Restart 2009

In January 2009, the District editions of the Rundschau were radically restructured. About 100 employees had left the company. The newspaper was converted to a free - sheet since then and appears in miniature. The name was changed to " district Rundschau " or Rundschau on Sunday for the Sunday edition. Although both blades operate under the brand Rundschau, they are independent companies under the umbrella of the Tyrolean Moser Holding. The Rundschau himself described this step as a reboot. The district Rundschau appears free with 14 editions and is distributed to all households that Rundschau on Sunday costs 50 cents (removal bags ). Prior year Raiffeisen Landesbank Upper Austria rose by 14.63 % directly at the Moser Holding. Thus, the Raiffeisen is again indirectly owners of Rundschau shares. In November 2009, the last " Rundschau am Sonntag" appeared. The owners presented a medium and released the entire editorial staff.

Competition

Main competitor is the free sheet "Tips " from the house of the Upper Austrian News. Just like the Rundschau them informed about current events from the districts. In January 2009, shortly after the restart of the mentioned Rundschau, surprisingly the Upper Austrian News a new newspaper decided in each case for one of the three districts of the Innviertel surrendered. One can consider this as a frontal counterattack, since the layout and the information is very closely based on the earlier Rundschau. This is, however, subject to charges.
