Oberperfuss

Oberperfuss is a municipality with 2878 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district of Innsbruck Land in Tirol ( Austria ). The municipality is located in the judicial district Telfs.

Geography

Oberperfuss is located in the Inn Valley about 15 km west of Innsbruck on a low mountain range across from Grinzens, at the entrance of Sellraintal.

History

Oberperfuss that prove prehistoric finds from the Neolithic Age ( Krimpenbachalm ) and Iron Age ( Scheibenbühel ), can be described as old settlement area. Similarly, findings from the La Tene and Roman times ( Birgl ) are kept in the Provincial Museum. Famous sons of the community are the " Bauernkartographen " Peter Anich, Blasius Hueber and Anton Kirchebner. The Anich - Hueber - museum displays memorabilia of the cartographer. The climber Felix Kuen (1936-1974) grew up in Oberperfuss.

Leisure

In summer hikes offer the Rosskogel ( 2646m ), the Koegele and Ranggerköpfl Mountain at (1939 m). The latter is ideal for skiing in winter and sledding.
