Obturator externus muscle

The obturator externus muscle (Latin for " external Hüftlochmuskel " ) is one of the hip muscles of the thigh. The obturator externus muscle former name is still valid in the animal anatomy.

In artiodactyls, lacking the musculus obturator internus, obturator externus arises from the muscle and on the inside of the basin ( Pars intrapelvina ).

Function

The musculus obturator (ius ) externus rotates the thigh outward.
