Öckerö

Öckerö is a place ( tätort ) in the Swedish province of Västra Götaland County, in the historical province of Bohuslän. The place is also the capital of the municipality of the same name.

The name referred Öckerö also the island on which the city lies. It is located in northern Gothenburg archipelago. The island can be reached from the neighboring islands Hönö and Hälsö that are connected by a bridge to Öckerö. From Hönö out there are free ferries of Vägverkets by Lilla Varholmen on Rambergsvallen.
