Ocobaya

Ocobaya is a village in the department of La Paz in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

Ocobaya is a settlement in the administrative district ( bolivian: municipality ) in the province of Sud Yungas Chulumani. The village lies at an altitude of 1616 m twenty kilometers northwest of the Río Boopi, a source of the river Río Beni.

Geography

Ocobaya is located in the Bolivian Yungas on the eastern slopes of the high mountain ridge of the Cordillera Real.

The mean average temperature of the region is 21 ° C, the annual precipitation is about 1150 mm. The region has a pronounced diurnal climate, the monthly average temperatures vary only slightly between 18 ° C in July and 22 ° C in December. The monthly rainfall between about 20 mm during the months of June and July, and more than 150 mm from December to February.

Traffic network

Ocobaya lies at a distance of 142 kilometers of road east of La Paz, the capital of the department of the same name.

From La Paz the paved highway Route 3 leads in a northeasterly direction 60 miles to Unduavi, then branches off the unpaved Ruta 25 in a southeasterly direction and reaches after 69 kilometers Chulumani. From there, a road leads from 13 km to the village Ocobaya and continues on to Cutusuma.
