Octar

Oktar († 430 ) was a ruler of the European Huns in the 5th century and an uncle of Attila.

He ruled jointly with his brother Rua to 430 over a large part of the European Huns, with Oktar prevailed in the West. Details about him are not known. The late antique church historian Socrates reported that Oktar died as a result of a too luxuriant meal while he led against the Burgundians War ( Socrates, 7, 30).
