Octavio Beras Rojas

Octavio Antonio Cardinal Beras Rojas ( born November 16, 1906 in Seibo, Dominican Republic, † December 1, 1990 in Santo Domingo ) was Archbishop of Santo Domingo.

Life

Octavio Antonio Beras Rojas received by philosophical and theological studies in Santo Domingo and Rome on August 13, 1933, the sacrament of Holy Orders. He then worked for two years in his home diocese as a parish pastor. In the years 1935 to 1945 he directed the publication of the Official Journal of Church and the Church newspaper of the Archdiocese of Santo Domingo. In addition, he worked for a Catholic radio station and founded a Catholic youth organization. In the forties, he also took over the management of the ecclesiastical Court and provided pastoral service in the Episcopal Church.

1945 Pope Pius XII appointed him.
