Octavo

The octavo ( from the Latin octo " eight " ) is an old exercise book or book format, in which was a sheet of paper folded three times and thus broken into eight leaves (makes 16 pages). It has always been a common production format for novels.

History

The size of a sheet of paper is changed over time. At first she was completely arbitrary and hung depending on the age of the size of the scoop shape from.
