The Octopus is currently the twelfth largest mega yacht in the world, and ( after the Rising Sun by David Geffen ) at the same time the third largest, which is not owned by a head of state.
Development
The Octopus has a length of 126 m and was delivered to her owner Paul Allen in 2003. The yacht accommodates two helicopters in an associated hangar, a 19 -meter tender as well as a U- boat for eight people. Side vents above the water line to serve as a garage for smaller dinghies and jet skis.
It was designed by Espen Øino Naval Architects and built by HDW in Kiel on behalf of Lürssen. The hull is made of steel.
