Oda of Canterbury

Odo of Canterbury (c. 880 in Denmark, † June 2 959 in Canterbury ) was an English archbishop and is a saint. He is also known as Odo the Good.

Life

942 he assumed the office of the Archbishop of Canterbury. The local cathedral chapter was reserved towards him very much. This initial resistance overcame Odo in that it in the French Abbey Fleury religious profession of the Benedictines, a solemn vow.

He became the tutor of his nephew, the afterwards canonized Oswald of York.
