Odense Municipality

Municipality of Odense is a Danish municipality on the island of Funen in Region Syddanmark. It extends over an area of ​​305.60 km ² and has 193,370 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013). The seat of government is in Odense.

History

Odense Municipality was formed in the course of administrative reform of 1970 and remained in full on the recent administrative reform of 2007. In this office, the municipality changed from resolved Funen in the new Region Syddanmark. The municipality was established by merging the town of Odense with the villages Allerup - Davinde, Marshallese - Næsbyhoved, Broby, Brændekilde, Bellinge, Dalum, Fraugde, Korup Ubberud, Lumby, Paarup, Sanderum, Stenløse - Fangel, Fjordager (which until 1966 by Association incurred by the rural communities Agedrup and Seden - Åsum was ) and the parish Højby.
