Odón Alonso
Odon Alonso Ordás ( born February 28, 1925 in La Bañeza, León province, † February 21, 2011 in Madrid) was a Spanish conductor and occasional composer of film music.
Alonso studied in Madrid, Siena, Salzburg and Vienna. First tasks as a conductor were from 1952 to 1956 in the line of the orchestra and choir of the Spanish National Radio. In 1960 he took over the Philharmonic Orchestra of Madrid, with whom he performed a number of challenging works; 1968 to 1984 he headed the Symphony Orchestra of the Spanish Radio ( " Orquesta Sinfónica de Radio Televisión Española "). 1986 to 1994 he conducted the Symphony Orchestra of Puerto Rico.
As a composer, he was responsible for a handful of film scores.
