Odontosida pusillus

Odontosida pusillus is a butterfly (moth ) from the family of moth ( Sphingidae ).

Features

The moths have a forewing length of 19-20 millimeters. The body and the front wings have a brownish pink or gray base color with darker lines. The hind wings are pink - copper colored. See the gray animals Temnora elegans similar, but differ in the pattern of the front wings and body. Odontosida pusillus also has a dark spot on Tornus of the hind wings.

The caterpillars are green and have a grainy surface with fine white knobs. They have seven oblique, green and white stripes on the sides. The spiracles are reddish. The Analhorn is quite long, dyed black and has white knobs.

Dissemination and lifestyle

The species is known only from South Africa. Their caterpillars feed on species of the genus Hermannia.
