Ödseen

The Great Ödsee is a forest -lined lake in the Salzkammergut ( municipality of Grünau, Upper Austria ). It was created by a landslide ( Abdämmungssee ) and has no surface inflow or outflow. South of it are the mountains to the Dead belonging summit Hochkogel, Großer Priel and Schermberg. The lake is just like the neighboring Small Ödsee from Almtal from accessible (6 km long road to Almtalerhaus that must be traveled from early summer until the start of the hunting season in mid-September ). Both lakes are easily accessible on trails. In warm summers are both popular as lakes. The Great Ödsee is also designated as a nature reserve ( N012, 8.0943 ha ;)
