Oenone Wood

Oenone Lee Wood (born 24 September 1980 in Newcastle) is a former Australian cyclist.

Oenone Wood started cycling only when she was in her early 20, but quickly successes one. Previously she had studied electrical engineering. From 2001 to 2008 she was active as a professional racing driver. During this time, she twice won the cycling World Cup Women, 2004 and 2005. 2004 2008 Wood Australian Champion in the road race, in 2005 in the time trial. 2005 and 2006, she also won the overall title of " Geelong Tour" for themselves.

At the 2006 Commonwealth Games Oenone Wood won the gold medal in the individual time trial and the silver medal in the road race. Twice, in 2004 and 2008, she participated in the Olympic Games. At the 2004 Games in Sydney she won 4th place in the road race

2005 Oenone Wood was elected in Australia for " cyclist of the year".
