OFC Charleville

The Olympique Football Club Charleville- Mézières, usually abbreviated to OFC Charleville, is a French football club based in Charleville- Mézières Ardennes department in northern France.

The club was founded in 1904 as Association Sportive of élèves anciens de Belair la Villette, renamed itself in 1910 and 1927 in Ardennais Club Football Club de Charleville to. In 1932 he merged with Olympique de Charleville and called Football Club Olympique Charleville. As a result of the union of the towns of Charleville and Mézières (1966 ) and after a economically justified resolution, he was re-established under its current name in 1997.

The club color is blue. The first team plays at the Stade du Petit- Bois, which can accommodate 3,000 spectators. Currently ( 2013/14 season ) it occurs in the sechstklassigen Division d'Honneur.

League membership

From 1935 to 1939 and again from 1994 to 1997 had the OFC professional status, also played in Division 2, but never in the top division in France. By reaching the final of the National Cup in 1936 achieved the greatest success to date of the association; in it he had to after previous victories against the first division club AS Cannes ( 1-0), Excelsior AC Roubaix ( 2-0) and Red Star (2-1) but then the RC Paris bend 0:1.
