Ogham (Unicode block)
The Unicode block Ogam (English Ogham, U 1680 to U 169 F) contains the characters of the Celtic Ogham script, with the particularly in Ireland in the 4th - 6th Century personal names were carved into standing stones and other items. The Ogham script is an alphabet in which various combinations of horizontal or diagonal, right, left or mounted on both sides of a vertical baseline strokes encode the letters of the Latin alphabet. Depending on the writing material, other orientations occur; in scientific publications the Ogam script is usually written from left to right.
