Ognjen Cvitan

Ognjen Cvitan ( born October 10, 1961 in Šibenik) is a Croatian chess master.

Cvitan won as representative of Yugoslavia, the Junior World Championship 1981 in Mexico City and was appointed by the FIDE International Master for. Later he became a grandmaster. Cvitan represented at the Chess Olympiad in 1990 in Novi Sad, Yugoslavia in the C- Team, then from 1992 to 2004 Croatia. At the Olympic Games in 1992 in Manila, he was awarded for the best individual performance ( 6, -0 = 4) as second reserve the gold medal. Cvitan played in the Croatian League of Rijeka in the Swiss National League for Biel; currently (season 2012 ) for the chess society Riehen, in the Slovenian League for the ŠK Nova Gorica and in the Bosnian league Premijer for the ŠK Tuzla. In Germany, he reported for the DJK upward Aachen, with whom he won the second place in the German Blitz team championship in 2010.
