Ogone was founded in 1996 by Harold Mechelynck and Thierry Pierson. Ogone originated from an IT consulting firm for banks and developed in 1999 its first platform for electronic payment method for the Belgian market, Netclearing. With this solution, Ogone has been the market leader in Belgium. In the following years, the company expanded into the Netherlands, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Great Britain, India and the U.S., and today operates in all these countries own subsidiaries. About 300 employees are dedicated to the requirements in the payment of the electronic trade. Ogone now has one of the most powerful and functionally richest payment processing platforms for processing electronic payment transactions. The company supports all industry-relevant safety requirements and is since 2004 PCI DSS Level 1 certified. With over 200 direct connections to banks and acceptance partners Ogone has an international support network of distributors, both nationally and in international trade. The Ogone payment page is available in over 20 languages.

The Ogone platform is a technical interface that is seamlessly integrated between customers, dealers and partners acceptance for payment methods. With over 80 international and local online payment methods Ogone allows your customers choose how they want to pay. Today Ogone is one of more than 40,000 customers in more than 45 countries who can handle their transactions in the respective local currency worldwide. The solution is based on a software -as- a-Service Architecture ( SaaS), so traders need to install any hardware or software to use the Ogone technology can.
