Ohau River

The Ohau River is a short river in the Mackenzie Basin, New Zealand. It connects the Lake Ohau and Lake Benmore, Waitaki River of a reservoir, and flows approximately 8 km of the reservoir Lake Ruataniwha.

Before the construction of hydropower plants on the river system of the Waitaki River, he was a tributary of the Waitaki. He is a part of the traditional border between the regions of Otago and Canterbury.

The nearest town is Twizel Lake Ruataniwha.

To the north, after the Lake Ruataniwha then west of the winding river bed runs parallel one unused for the hydropower project bypass channel.
