Öja Church
The Church of Öja (Swedish Öja kyrka ) is a country church on Gotland, the church community ( swedish församling ) Hoburg heard. It is in the same parish in the south of Gotland, 68 km south of Visby and 1.5 km east of Burgsvik. Like the other churches in the south of Gotland it is built of sandstone. The oldest parts of the church date from the 12th century. The present nave was built in the late 13th century, while the tower in the middle of the 14th century, at the end of the period of most active church building on Gotland, arose and stone masterpiece " Egypticus " comes.
Equipment
The church contains many art-historically significant paintings and the only standing triumphal cross in Northern Europe.
