Ojokojo Torunarigha

Torunarigha 1990

Ojokojo Torunarigha ( born March 12, 1970 in Lagos ) is a former Nigerian football player and current coach, who was active in the higher class of his career for the Chemnitz FC and Borussia Neunkirchen. Torunarigha was after the fall of the first African professional in East Germany.

Career

Ojokojo Torunarigha began his career at the IICC Shooting Stars in Nigeria. After a move to CBS Libreville in Gabon the attacking midfielder was hired in 1990 at the Chemnitz FC. Torunarigha was after the fall of the first African professional in East German football. The Nigerian was able to prevail in Chemnitz in sports. After his playing career was also active against racism in football stadiums.

In sporting terms, Torunarigha completed under coach Hans Meyer his first competitive game in the 1-3 defeat of the Sky Blues in the first round of the DFB Cup at Freiburger FC. Following the Nigerians belonged until 1994 to the permanent staff of the Saxon clubs in the 2nd Bundesliga, but was later sorted out under Meyer's successor Reinhard Häfner.

In the aftermath Torunarigha acted at FC Sachsen Leipzig and Fortuna Furth unterklassig, but still completed several missions for Borussia Neunkirchen in the Regionalliga West. In Neunkirchen of Nigerians acted according to his playful career as a youth coach, after which he worked in the same capacity for Hertha BSC. He currently coaches the youth of the SFC Stern 1900 in Berlin.
