Okazaki castle

The castle Okazaki (Japanese冈 崎 城) is a Japanese castle in Okazaki ( Aichi Prefecture ). She was also called " Dragon Castle " (龙城, Ryujo ).

History

The Okazaki Castle in 1455 by the samurai Saigo Tsugiyori (西 郷 稠 頼) built. The main tower but only 1620. The head of the Matsudaira, Matsudaira Kiyoyasu (松 平 清 康), captured the castle in 1524. His grandson Tokugawa Ieyasu was born in the castle. Tokugawa Ieyasu was from 1560 to 1570 the lord of the castle. When feudalism was abolished in 1873 in Japan, it was allowed to demolish. However, it was rebuilt in 1959.

The area around the castle is a park today. In this are some statues, including one in honor of Tokugawa Ieyasu.
