Okfuskee County is a county located in the state of Oklahoma in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Okemah.

Geography

The County is located east of the geographic center of Oklahoma and has an area of ​​1629 square kilometers, of which 11 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Creek County, Okmulgee County, McIntosh County, Hughes County, Seminole County, Pottawatomie County and Lincoln County.

History

Okfuskee County was formed on 16 July 1907 as original county of Muskogee country. It was named after an ancient Indian city in Cleburne County in Alabama.
