Olav Thon Foundation

Olav Thon Foundation ( unofficial name, Norwegian: Olav Thon Stiftelsen ) is an economic and philanthropic foundation in Oslo, Norway, and the largest in this country.

The Foundation was established on 10 December 2013, Oslo, Olav Thon gave her his share certificates of the company Olav Thon - group. The Foundation is now a major player Norwegian economy and one of the largest owners of Norway.

In addition, the Foundation has the purpose of supporting research of mathematics and science subject area. This is done, among others, up to ten annual research awards per 500,000 crowns, which are both Norwegian acquirable as foreign researchers, and annually with an international award with prize money of five million crowns.
