Old Apostolic Church

The Old Apostolic Church ( Old Apostolic Church ), Afrikaans Ou Apostoliese Kerk, is a Christian religious community.

Formation

Founder of the Old Apostolic Church Church was born in Pomerania ( Germany ) Carl Georg Klibbe, originally a Lutheran pastor. He emigrated to Scotland and later to Australia, where he was in the Apostolic Church of Queensland, which was then the German communities of the General Christian Apostolic Mission clubs around Menkhoff, cancer, fruit and Ruff in connection sealed. From there Klibbe was initially and later discarded by Apostle Henry F. Niemeyer in 1889 as an apostle evangelist for South Africa. He spoke only German and began his work among the German immigrants around Cape Town and Worcester ( Western Cape ), first without results. To the German branch in Berlin, about sixty kilometers from East London from being able to edit, he moved to East London, where the first church was established in 1892.

Conflicts with Chief Apostle Niehaus

When first got Niemeyer and later Klibbe problems with Hermann Niehaus, the then Chief Apostle of the New Apostolic Church, 1913 a "counter " apostle was nominated for Klibbe by Niehaus. This was Wilhelm Schlaphoff. ( Another view is that it was a misunderstanding, because Klibbe after Apostle Meeting in Germany had a ship accident and was considered drowned. He had, however, taken another ship, lived and Schlaphoff refused to give up his apostleship again. )

After excluding Klibbes this further first worked under the name " New Apostolic Church ". 1926, however, won Schlaphoff a dispute, the Klibbe undertook to take advantage of this church name distance. Then he called to the Church founded by him in 1927 in Old Apostolic Church of Africa, in 1931 more than one million members counted at his death. As Schlaphoff died in 1928, was one of the New Apostolic community just 39 municipalities. The exact genesis is widely ambiguity as apostles Klibbe also the founder of a part of the Apostolic Church of South Africa - Apostle Unity ( qv) is proclaimed.

Teaching

The Old Apostolic Church ( Church Altapostolische ) consists of the four basic pillars apostles' teaching, the breaking of bread, prayer and fellowship.

The article of their faith are elaborated on the basis of the Bible.

The Old Apostolic Church Church proclaims the " already completed return of Jesus Christ." Christ has come again, through the body of Jesus Christ, this form all siblings who are born through baptism and sealing again. Christ has come again, his way and his deeds and actions should be made manifest in humans. In every human being to come to birth according to Galatians 2:20 - 21LUT the nature of Christ. People need to so do not expect a renewed coming of Christ, Christ wants to act and create by the people.

The Old Apostolic Church holds the "natural names and designations of the churches " for not important, but the statement of faith.

The present number of members is estimated at about 2.5 million, of which the majority are in South Africa. Other areas of church communities are the countries: Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Zambia, Malawi, Namibia, Angola, Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Ireland, the United States of America, Canada and Germany. In the Netherlands, the church is managed by the elder Ronald Looij. In Botswana in 1974 alone, 32 new church buildings have been built in the 29 years since the official registration of the church.

The Old Apostolic Church Church sees itself as a Bible-believing church. Man uses the old King James Bible and the King James Version of 1912, because the text is closest to the original Hebrew text draws heavily ( see Revelation 22:18 - 19LUT ).

The church is independent and has nothing to do with the South African Apostolic Church of South Africa - Apostle Unity to do that is a member in the United Apostolic Church.

Spin-offs

There is also a spin-off of this community under the name Reformed Old Apostolic Church ( Reformed Old Apostolic Church ) under the direction of the apostles SJ Solomon, M.N. Mdlalo and R. R. Solomon. There seems to be another spin-off called Reformed Apostolic Church to give, which is headed by Apostle Freddie Isaacs and 7 other apostles, but you can only find some articles in South African newspapers.
