The Aeropuerto Internacional Mariscal Sucre was the international airport of Ecuador's capital Quito. He was named after the national hero Antonio José de Sucre and had a terminal and an airstrip. On February 19, 2013, was closed for flight operations.

The site is located in the north of the city, just minutes from the financial district of Quito and is surrounded by dense development. Because of its location and other conditions as its sloping runway, he was considered one of the most difficult flying to airports worldwide.

To the east of Quito, the Aeropuerto Internacional Mariscal Sucre ( 2013) was opened on 20 February 2013, its offers a modern infrastructure and a more favorable position for safer landings even spare capacity.
