Oldenburg T 3

The genus T 3 of the Oldenburg State Railways were tender locomotives for use on local and branch lines. They were essentially the Prussian T 3 Performance-wise, there was no difference to the genus T 2; T 3, however, had an approximately 4.4 t higher friction load at a lower axle load.

12 locomotives were supplied by Hanomag 1898-1901. 1909 three more machines were delivered, which were intended only for shunting. They had a grate area of 1.0 m, a heating surface of 57.2 m²; also lacked the Heberlein braking device.

The German Reichsbahn took over in 1925 all 15 locomotives and strung them together as a series 98.2 and gave them the numbers 98201-98 215 However, they were scrapped in 1926.

The former 98 210 arrived in 1945 as works locomotives for Deutsche Reichsbahn in East Germany and was given the number 89 operating 7577th She was decommissioned in 1961.
