Oldřich František Korte

Oldrich Frantisek Korte ( born April 26, 1926 in Šaľa ) is a Czech composer.

Korte was a pupil of his father František Korte and studied from 1943 to 1949 at the Prague Conservatory in Franticek Picha, next he studied privately philosophy. He then went wide range of professions gradually was, among other farm workers, foresters, construction worker and fireman. After 1945 he wrote as a writer, music reviews, essays, as well as scripts for radio broadcasts and television series. As a pianist he has predominantly been on his own works. He also worked for many years together with the Prague 's Laterna magika and worked as a composer and musical director for the Prague National Theatre, Munich Studio Theater and the Folkteatern Gothenburg.

He has composed a ballet, incidental music, a musical for young people, a Sinfonietta, a concerto grosso for strings, trumpets and piano, a wind Suite, chamber music and Troubadourgesänge for soloists, choir and period instruments.
