Ole Christian Eidhammer

Career

Eidhammer gave his World Cup debut in ski flying on February 20, 1983 at Vikersund. He finished the race in 10th position surprising. At the Junior World Championships in 1983 in the Kuopio he could on the normal hill win the silver medal. After another jump in the World Cup he competed at the Nordic World Ski Championships 1984 in the Swiss Engelberg in the team competition and was awarded the Norwegian team in sixth. On the basis of this result was Eidhammer in the team for the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo. There he could reach the 18th place in the individual competition on the normal hill. In the same year, he also reached the World Cup competition at the Holmenkollen in Oslo on 3 and thus best single place in a World Cup competition. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 1987 in Oberstdorf, he was on the normal hill 37th, on the large hill 26 and was able to win with the team to second place and thus the silver medal in the team competition. After another season with varying results Eidhammer was nominated again for the team for the Olympics. So he jumped at the Olympic Winter Games in Calgary in 1988 in all three disciplines and was 19th on the normal hill, large hill on the 17th and reached the 3rd place with the team and therefore the bronze medal.
