Ole Wanscher

Ole Wanscher ( born September 16, 1903 in Frederiksberg, † 27 December 1985, Charlottenlund, Gentofte ) was a Danish architect and furniture designer.

He was employed from 1924 to 1927 with Kaare Klint. He then settled down as a self-employed architect with furniture design as a specialty. From 1931 to 1936 he worked as a teacher for furniture design at the School of Applied Arts ( Kunsthåndværkerskolen ) in Copenhagen, as a technical advisor to the Society for Nature Conservation Danmarks Naturfredningsforening 1937 to 1944 and as Secretary of the Competition Committee Akademisk Arkitektforening 1939-1949. In 1955 to 1973 he was professor of furniture and space art at the Danish Academy of Art.

It was also Wanscher 1940 to 1952 a member of the jury of the Academy of Arts, from 1949 as chairman of the Architecture section. From 1951 he headed the exhibition committee of Danske Arkitekters Landsforbund.
