Oleg Losev

Oleg Vladimirovich Losev (Russian Олег Владимирович Лосев; * 27 Apriljul / May 10 1903greg in Tver, .. † January 22, 1942 in Leningrad) was a Soviet radio frequency engineer.

Life

As early as 1920 he worked starting from the crystal detector, in the field of semiconductor technology. In May 1924 he published as a radio amateur in a French radio Journal published an article about a detector amplifier.

In 1927, he discovered electroluminescence when current passes through a carborundum crystal (see Round - effect).

He also discovered that crystal detectors are suitable under certain conditions to generate oscillations, and it developed its Crystadyn receiver ( генерирующий детектор? ). Due to lack of knowledge of semiconductor and the rapidly spreading tube technology became this into oblivion.
