Oleg Sakirkin

Oleg Jewgenewitsch Sakirkin (Russian Олег Евгеньевич Сакиркин, English transcription Oleg Yevgenyevich Sakirkin, . Born January 23, 1966 in Shymkent ) is a retired Kazakh athlete who had specialized in the triple jump.

Until 1992 Sakirkin represented the Soviet Union internationally. He celebrated his first major success at the World Athletics Championships 1987 in Rome, when he won the bronze medal behind the Bulgarians Markov Christ and the American Mike Conley in the triple jump. In the Indoor Athletics European Championships in Budapest in 1988, he secured the title. In 1989 he occupied at the Universiade in Duisburg second place, just as in the Indoor Athletics Championships 1990 in Glasgow.

1993 Sakirkin was now starting for Kazakhstan, second at the Universiade in Buffalo and at the Athletics Asian Championships in Manila. Each victorious, he worked at the Asian Games in Hiroshima in 1994 and the central Asian Games 1995 in Tashkent and Bishkek in 1999. However, he did not come out at the World Athletics Championships in 1999 in Seville and at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney over the qualifying round.
