Olexandr Horjajinow (Ukrainian Горяїнов Олександр Сергійович, scientific transliteration Oleksandr Horjajinov; Russian Горяинов Александр Сергеевич; born June 29, 1975 in Kharkiv, Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian football player.

Career

Born in Kharkiv Horjajinow played much of his career in his hometown. After the end of the Soviet Union in 1992, he began the fourth division FC Kharkiv Olympik and changed already after one season to Metalist Kharkiv in the newly founded in the previous year Premjer - Liha. At the end of the 1993/94 season was relegated Metalist in the subprime Perscha Liha. 1995 left Horjajinow Metalist and joined the first division side FK CSKA Borisfen in Kiev. In 1996 the club was renamed to CSKA Kiev (now he operates under the name Arsenal Kiev and still plays in the first division ). 1997 Horjajinow returned to Metalist Kharkiv. There at the end of the 1997/98 season, he managed to climb into the Premjer - Liha. Four seasons long reached Metalist each have a place in the top 10 in the league, but in 2003 it was only enough for 16th place, which meant the re relegation to the second division. After the descent Horjajinow joined Krywbas Krivoy Rog to continue to play first class.

Metalist succeeded in 2004, the direct re- rise and so Horjajinow 2005 returned back to his hometown club, where he has since guards the gate. After a third place in the 2006/07 season the club in 2007/ 08 for the first time qualified for the UEFA Cup. From 2007 to 2012 reached Metalist with his goalkeeper Horjajinow six consecutive third place in the league and played annually since then in the UEFA Cup and since 2009 in the UEFA Europa League. Reaching the quarter-finals in the 2011/12 season was the greatest success.

On 25 May 2010 Horjajinow debut in a 4-0 win over Lithuania in the Ukrainian national team. Because the goalkeeper Olexandr -budgetary Schowkowskyj and Andrij Dykan failed Olexandr Rybka injured and was tested positive for doping, called Oleh Blokhin coach Horjajinow in the Ukrainian squad for the 2012 European Championship, which took place in their own country.
