Oleksiy Pecherov

Oleksiy Iwanowytsch Petscherow (Ukrainian Олексій Іванович Печеров, English transcription: Oleksiy Ivanovich Pecherov; born December 8, 1985 in Donetsk, USSR, Soviet Union) is a Ukrainian professional basketball player who played, among others, in the most highly endowed professional league NBA as well as in various top divisions Europe. Career as a player

Clubs

Oleksiy Petscherow began playing basketball at age 15. He first played for Polytechnic Kharkiv. Here he fell and was nominated for the U-20 European Championship in 2004 in the youth team of Ukraine. It was used in all games and reached an average of 12 points. This was followed by the change to BK Kiev, the Ukrainian 2005 he was champion. At the start of the 2005/2006 season Petscherow went abroad to Paris Basket Racing. He was drafted in 2006 to 18th position from the Washington Wizards, but remained for a valid contract for one more year in Ukraine. Because of an injury suffered in the preseason Petscherow came only in January 2008 on his debut in the NBA. After two seasons Petscherow switched from Wizards to Minnesota Timberwolves as part of a player exchange. After a year in Minnesota, he moved in 2010 to return to Europe with Olimpia Milano to play in the Italian Cup and the Euro League. After a year in Italy, he returned to the 2011/12 season in the Ukraine to Mariupol Asowmasch back. In addition to the Ukrainian Championship, where twice the runner-up (2012, 2013) succeeded, he played with ULEB Eurocup in Asowmasch and in the VTB United League. Here he was appointed in 2012/13 season at the best Ukrainian players. The following season, he had a one-month contract with Spanish side Valencia in the ACB league, which was not renewed. In January 2014, Petscherow then entered into at the Euro Challenge Krasnye Krylia 2012/13-Gewinner in Russia's Samara.

National

Oleksiy Petscherow participated with the Ukrainian national basketball team at the 2005 European Championships and the 2011 European Championships. However, it has not been enough for both tournaments for the front ranks.
