Olli Huttunen

Olavi " Olli " Huttunen (* August 4, 1960 in Kajaani ) is a Finnish football coach and former football goalkeeper.

In November 2010, he coached the Finnish national team ( 8-0 victory over San Marino) was replaced by interim coach Markku Kanerva after only one game, which in turn after just two games to the current (as of August 2011) coach Mixu Paatelainen had to give way.

Career

Huttunen played in Finland exclusively for Valkeakosken Haka. With the club he won the 1995 Finnish Championship. Also, get him with the club three Cup wins in Finland. He played 60 international matches for the Finnish national team.

Huttunen is considered one of the best goalkeepers in the Finnish football history. Twice he was voted Footballer of the Year in Finland.

After finishing his career as an active player, he became an assistant to Keith Armstrong on the bench of his master association. When he left the club at the end of the 2001 season, Huttunen became his successor and led the club to a championship and two cup victories.

In 2009 he left Valkeakoski to first work for the Finnish national team as a goalkeeper coach. Soon he became the assistant coach next to the Scots Stuart Baxter. When he resigned after a poor start to the European Championship qualifiers for 2012 ( three defeats in three games ), appointed by the Finnish Association Huttunen to coach. He held only for one match ( 8-0 win over San Marino), however this position.

In 2012 he took over as coach at the Finnish first division side VPS Vaasa and reached in 2013 with the club to third place in the First Division.
