Olubayo Adefemi

Olubayo Adefemi ( born August 13, 1985 in Lagos, † 18 April, 2011 Kavala, Greece) was a Nigerian football player who was most recently at the Greek first division club Skoda Xanthi under contract.

Career

Adefemi began his career at Bendel Insurance, a Nigerian football club based in Benin City. In 2008 he moved to Rapid Bucharest to Romania, where he made his debut in the top division 28 September 2008 against FC Arges Pitesti. After only half a year in Bucharest, it pulled the Nigerians to Austria to SC Rheindorf Altach, where he signed a contract in January 2009, but Adefemi did not due to lack of eligibility to be used.

In summer 2009 he left Austria and signed with the U.S. Boulogne.

Adefemi reached with Nigeria at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing the silver medal. At the games, it was used five times and was able to score a goal.

Adefemi died 18 April 2011 in a car accident. According representation of the Greek police he had lost on the highway between Xanthi and Thessaloniki, where he still wanted to clarify the final details on his upcoming nuptials control of his vehicle.
