Oludamola Osayomi

Oludamola Osayomi ( born June 26, 1986 in Ilesha ) is a Nigerian athlete who specializes in the 100 - meter dash and the 200 -meter run. She was repeatedly Africa champion and won at the 2008 Olympics, the bronze medal in the relay.

Life

She participated in the 2004 Olympics in Athens and at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 2005. Here, with the 4 × 100 m relay occupied Nigeria each seventh.

In 2007 she took at the World Championships in Osaka in eighth place in the 100 meters. In the same year she succeeded at the Pan-African Games in Algiers a double victory in the 100 and 200 meters. With the 4 × 100 m relay she reached the second place.

In the Africa Championships 2008 in Addis Ababa, she won the 4 × 100 m relay and in the 100 - meter dash gold medal over 200 meters they secured the bronze medal. They celebrated their biggest success by winning the bronze medal in the 4 × 100 m relay at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. The Nigerian sprint relay had not originally qualified for the competition and was able to attend only because Finland shortly withdrew his squadron. Osayomi also launched in Beijing in the 100 - and 200 -meter run, however, the difference in half-or quarter-final round.

At the 2009 World Championships in Berlin Osayomi launched over 100 and 200 meters and with the season, but managed in any competition the final. The following year she won at the African Championships in Nairobi, the title in the 200 meter dash and the 4 x 100 - meter relay and bronze in the 100 -meter run.

At the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, she won the 100 meters gold medal, only to lose it again soon. First, they had only finished second, but benefited from the subsequent disqualification of Australian Sally Pearson because of a false start. At a doping control Osayomi was, however, tested positive for the banned substance methylhexaneamine. The gold medal was stripped of her again and she was given a six -month ban.

After her doping suspension Osayomi came at the 2011 World Championships in the 100 meters semi-finals. The Pan-African Games shortly after she won the 100 and 200 meters gold. In London she was fourth in 2012 with the Nigerian relay at the Olympic Games.
